JKBOSE New Chairman Announced for 2026, Know Details

The Jammu and Kashmir government has reportedly cleared the proposal to appoint Prof. Wahid Makhdoomi as the new Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).

Prof. Makhdoomi, who currently serves as the Registrar of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, was recommended for the top post by the state cabinet in its recent meeting.

Key Details of the Appointment

• Status: The proposal has been cleared by Lok Bhavan (formerly Raj Bhavan).

• Formal Order: A formal government order is expected to be issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) or the School Education Department within the next few days.

• Background: The post of JKBOSE Chairman has been vacant for approximately 10 months. A search committee constituted by the government had shortlisted a panel of three names, from which Prof. Makhdoomi was finalized.
