The long wait is finally over for lakhs of students across Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially confirmed that the Class 10th and Class 12th (Annual Regular) results will be declared tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14.

Confirming the development, JKBOSE Chairman Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, who also holds the charge of Secretary JKBOSE, said the Board is fully prepared to honour the commitment made by the government and Education Minister Sakina Itoo regarding timely result declaration.

Result of 10th Class JKBOSE Declared: Students Can Check Their Scores Now

Result Declaration Schedule: Two Slots on Same Day

To ensure smooth access and manage heavy web traffic, JKBOSE has decided to release the results in two phases on the same day.

JKBOSE Result Timing – January 14

Class Expected Time
Class 10th Result Around 10:30 AM
Class 12th Result Around 2:00 PM

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Chairman Sheikh said:

“The government wanted a timely declaration of results. We have made all necessary arrangements to declare both results on a single day, a benchmark we maintained last year as well.”

“Best Results So Far,” Says JKBOSE Chairman

Ahead of the official declaration, the Chairman shared encouraging information regarding overall performance, giving students a morale boost.

“The overall result is better than last year. In fact, it is the best so far. The pass percentage is high and very few students have failed,”
Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Chairman JKBOSE

He said the improved performance reflects the hard work and resilience of students, teachers, and institutions across the UT.

However, the Chairman clarified that JKBOSE does not conduct gender-wise (boys vs girls) analysis at the examination stage, as such pedagogical assessments are handled by the respective directorates.

Why Both Results Are Being Declared on the Same Day

Explaining the rationale behind releasing both Class 10 and Class 12 results together, Chairman Sheikh highlighted the psychological impact of delays on students.

“When results are delayed, students remain anxious and are unable to concentrate on their next class or future plans. Timely results free them from that uncertainty,” he said.

Education experts believe that same-day declaration helps students:

  • Plan admissions without delay
  • Focus on next academic milestones
  • Reduce mental stress and uncertainty

Administrative Reforms: Services Decentralised

Apart from result declaration, JKBOSE has recently implemented important administrative reforms to improve student convenience.

What Has Changed

Earlier System New System
Students had to visit Srinagar/Jammu Services available at district sub-offices
Centralised correction process Decentralised verification & processing
Long delays Faster disposal under new SOPs

Corrections related to:

  • Name spelling
  • Date of Birth
  • Parentage

can now be handled at district-level JKBOSE offices, reducing travel and delays.

Message to Parents and Students

Ahead of the big day, the Chairman issued an important message urging parents to remain supportive and positive.

“Class 10 and 12 are important milestones, but they are not the end of one’s academic journey. There are many examples of people who did not perform well initially but went on to succeed later in life.”

He appealed to parents not to put undue pressure on children, regardless of the outcome.
